Fall Wedding Decor
Fall wedding decor isn’t all that hard to get right. You don’t have to be a stylist or designer to be able to take your wedding from “run of the mill” to “spectacular” in just a few short stages.
It’s all very easy to say that you don’t understand how colors work, and you don’t know what looks good, but the best part about fall wedding planning is that nature is your biggest inspiration. All you have to do is look out the window (or look at pictures if it’s not fall) and you’ll see the incredible colors that make fall so special.
You’ll also see the different natural things that you can incorporate into your fall wedding decorations. Let’s have a look at some of the decorating ideas you could use for your fall theme wedding:
The main colors you use should be browns, deep reds, and bronze. Other colors may work, but if you model your decorations around that core set of colors then you can’t really go wrong.
Orange works well but it has to be used sparingly otherwise it will look garish and lower the overall elegance of your decorations.
Try using leaves as part of your decorations. The maple leaf often comes in a number of different colors (especially fake leaves!) and you can use a selection of them to create gorgeous displays. You can link them together, or just scatter them around your venue, to give the whole place a very autumnal atmosphere.
Select a setting that has plenty of natural features. You don’t want to be somewhere in the middle of fall where you wouldn’t even know that it actually was fall. Choose a setting with plenty of deciduous trees that will be looking beautiful in the fall. It’s also worth looking at ways to incorporate some of the plant life into your displays, for example using wheat and barley (classic parts of the harvest) to give your centerpieces a bit of natural atmosphere.
Use flowers like dahlia and goldenrod. These flowers are perfect for fall wedding decorations because they reflect the colors of fall perfectly. There are plenty of other flowers to choose from, but just make sure you choose them based on color and also the style of your wedding. Arrange the flowers together and use bronzed ribbons or bows to make your displays stand out.
As you can see, there are many different ways that you can tackle a fall wedding. Those are just a few of the tips that can help turn your wedding into a day to remember. Don’t forget that your overall theme will need to be decided before you start embarking on decorations, but it’s always worth thinking about these things early on, because you may spot something that you simply “have to have” at your wedding.
